Benutzer gehört zum Inventar

Pelt mapping in Max is not very good so it´s smart to use blender. I just discovered that and after several hours of rage due to blenders, erm... "unique" controls i was able to unwrap the entire body of a character in two minutes with exporting and importing. Thanks to Anja and Nudel at 3dmaxforum.de.
1. Export from Max to obj (3ds sucks) and be sure to activate polys instead of tris in the export dialogue 2. Import into blender 3. In the lower window open the uv editor 4. In the uv editor go to image -> open and add your checkermap 5. Press "F" (Face select mode) in your 3d window 6. Select the faces you want to unwrap 7. Add pelt seams with alt + RMB and alt + shift + RMB 8. Press U -> unwrap (standard is set to by angle) 9. Export as obj 10. Import into Max 11. finished
